A Peek Inside our Sold Out Singles Parties

The “Singles Parties” have been hosting a total H. They have sold out each and every time I have hosted them. The events are so powerful and connective. It is an honor to facilitate them.

The attendees tend to ask me every time, “Eleanor, you are a happily married woman, why are you hosting singles parties?”

Well, I specialize in working with couples and recently I thought, "What if there were some preventative care where I could provide singles insights BEFORE they need help in their relationships? How can I help them be sure they pick the right people for them? Maybe I can help them pick partners who are available and ready for True love, like they are?"

As a formally trained Marriage and Family Therapist turned coach, I also believe in the power of love. I know in my heart that the more love we have in the world with healthy relationships, the more we can grow and share that love with all beings everywhere. So, I created the Singles Parties event series!

I had never hosted anything like this before and I think I was just as nervous as everyone else! I posted this event online, sent it to some community group chats, and created the link on Eventbrite to reach a broader audience. The event was free. This was a mistake. There were 20 spots available, and 22 people who signed up! WE SOLD IT OUT!!! BUT only 9 of the 22 people came to the first one, and 11 of the 35 came to the second one! We will be charging for these events from now on to give people some skin in the game to actually show up. I was surprised so many people bailed until one woman said, "I was so nervous on my way here, I almost turned around, but I told myself it was going to be ok!" I imagine this happened for a few other folks as well.

In fact, right before the event, 3 people messaged me saying that since they signed up to come to the “Singles Party,” they were now coupled up and did not feel comfortable coming anymore! I think this might be because they were ready for a relationship and declaring that by signing up for the party, that told the Universe/God/Source that they were reallllly ready for love. Once the group arrived, we dove right into a facilitated conversation that I lead around the kitchen table.

Now you see, this is not an event to necessarily “set anyone up.” This is a time for us to all get together and have a conversation to build community and support each other to share the love. And to my delight, at each event, without needing to curate this at all, there have been a pretty even mix of genders, with people of all different ages, demographics and life experiences. The conversations are rich and full of authenticity.

Around the table we discussed:

• What are our non-negotiables/values we seek in another?

• How are we cultivating those values within ourselves?

• What is it like to be single right now for you in 2024?

• And how do we listen to ourselves about whether to keep dating someone or to let them go?


We addressed all of these questions and more. The conversations, each time seem to flow easily. It seems people are really eager to talk about their experiences. It felt really nice to hear everyone's honest reflections and truth about a topic of being single that isn't talked about much in groups in a productive way!

The feedback that I received from the people who came to the party was so affirming. One man said, "It's just nice to sit around the table and talk with other single people about what the heck is going on out there! Where are the good people? How do we meet them? And what are others feeling about the dating world?"

​And THIS is why I created an opportunity for the singles party: This is for people to get to know one another, speak out loud what it is they're looking for in a partner and then asking the question, "What am I putting out there in the world that is attracting my lover?" In my view, this was such a successful event! We are so excited to keep hosting these events in the coming months. Would you or someone you love want to come?
