This week the American Psychological Association (APA) released their annual Stress in America poll, which they’ve conducted since 2007. The results of their data is alarming: 87% of respondents cite stress related to rising prices due to inflation, global uncertainty and the horrors of war between Russia and Ukraine.
The APA also found that many respondents reported worse mental health, lower physical activity, disturbed sleep, and increased reliance on unhealthy habits: “Just over half of U.S. adults (51%) disagreed that overall, their life has gotten healthier over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, and two in five (42%) said that they have relied on a lot of unhealthy habits such as over drinking to get themselves through the last two years.” (Although the APA wrote this quote in a backwards and confusing way, it is no surprise that people are REALLY struggling.)
Let’s all take a deep breath right now - for real. PLEASE! ***The vibration you are putting out there in the world matters!
As we can feel, people are on edge right now (especially in airports it seems) and the energy out there is HEAVYY. I know!!! It is rough. And it’s easy to become overwhelmed and lose sight of a brighter future. However, as the Buddha says:
“Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule.” Love is how we heal all this stress!
For example, are you your own best friend? Look in the mirror and love that human first!
