As we biked the playa on an early morning, self guided “art tour” of Burning Man, I saw a blurry shape from afar. I pointed and shouted “Woah, let’s go see that!”

We pulled up. I got off my bike. I walked over to her. Tears slowly started to well up in my eyes.

​“Look at her,” I said quietly as I touched her perfectly welded skin made out of the seed of life - a consistent kind of repeating shape or “sacred geometry” known as the building block of existence.

She is the Seed & The Flower of Life, my favorite shapes of all time.

As I walked around her slowly, I whispered, “Is that me?”

A friend of mine Ava Gettinger said a little louder, “Is that me??”

We smiled at each other.

​I felt myself sink into the playa. And I heard a message seemingly from outside myself, “Of course, she is you. She is the Earth and the Earth is you. She is Ava too. She is all of YOU. We call her Gaia.”

The artist Marco Cochrane said “Gaia is inspired by and in honor of nurturing energy… mother energy… love and connection : and the joy we feel when we act on the imperative to take care of each other and our planet.”
